While trying to find coverage of Richie Hebner’s 1st Major League Opening Day, found the Sports Slants for the same day, April 9, 1969. Sports Slants was Frank Wall’s signature column that appeared weekly. It was mostly sports related, but not always. This so-called ‘April Fools’ edition of Sports Slants gives you a glimpse into Frank’s imagination.
